These cute gifts are an idea I conjured up on a whim!

My kids were talking about trapping a leprechaun before I dropped them off for school on St. Patrick’s Day one year. And, I knew I didn’t have it in me to come up with a trap at the last minute.

But, I could make it seem like leprechauns had been sneaking around the house.

I didn’t want to do the footprints in the flour thing because that just seemed like another mess for me to clean up later.

So, I decided the leprechauns would be sneaky and tricky in a nice way and leave the kids some gifts.

I ran to Dollar Tree and found some green baskets and picked out inexpensive green-colored treats, books, and other items for cute color-themed gift baskets that cost about $12 each.

The sign and Lucky Charms cereal were the perfect final touch!

Tips and tricks:

  • As you go around the store selecting items, place them in the basket you’re going to use to make sure everything fits before you buy.
  • Make sure your items are varied in height so you can have taller items in the back and shorter items in the front for visual appeal
  • If you can find basket filler, it adds an extra nice touch!
