Ingredients

  • 24 thick pretzel rods
  • 12 oz white candy melts
  • 10 oz royal blue candy melts
  • 4 oz red candy melts
  • white star sprinkles

Method

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and pour the white star sprinkles on a plate or shallow bowl so they’re ready to use.
  2. Place 12 oz white candy melts in a tall microwave-safe cup or container. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Dip 24 thick pretzel rods about ⅔ of the way down into the white chocolate. Gently tap off excess and lay on parchment paper.
  4. Allow to set slightly (about 10–15 minutes) before the next step.
  5. Melt 10 oz royal blue candy Melts the same way as the white.
  6. Dip the top third of each white-coated pretzel into the blue chocolate and hold it horizontally over the container for a few seconds to let excess drip off.
  7. Wait about 15–30 seconds until the coating is still soft but no longer dripping. Gently roll the blue section of the pretzel through the sprinkles while slowly turning it.
  8. Touch up gaps by hand. Press a few extra stars on with your fingers where needed.
  9. Lay the pretzel down carefully and avoid rotating it again until the chocolate is fully set.
  10. Melt 4 oz red candy melts in a small bowl. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag and snip a tiny corner.
  11. Drizzle horizontal stripes over the white section of each pretzel to mimic flag stripes.
  12. Allow pretzels to harden completely at room temperature (about 30–45 minutes) or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes.
